Kolkata commemorated the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with a vibrant celebration organized by Jagriti Dham, an initiative of Infinity. The event featured cultural performances, tributes, and a symbolic community walk.
The event began with a lively procession led by 11 students dressed as Swami Vivekananda from Treasures of Innocence, symbolizing youth carrying forward his legacy. Visually impaired participants and energetic student dancers inspired the crowd, while the Dancers’ Guild moved the audience with a graceful performance to “Bhengecho duwar esecho jyotirmoy.”
Distinguished guests, including Swami Adipurushananda, Assistant Secretary, The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park, Kolkata; Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East & North East India; Prof. Dr. Saikat Maitra, Former Vice Chancellor, MAKAUT; Ravindra Chamaria, CMD, Infinity Group; and Aninda Das, Vice President Marketing, Infinity Group, delivered speeches on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. A cultural program, felicitation ceremony, and speeches emphasized education, empowerment, and spiritual growth.
Jivagram, Tribeca Care, Calcutta Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology, Banchbo and many others organisations became a part of this vibrant event showcasing their unity and collaboration. A community walk with banners featuring Swami Vivekananda’s teachings culminated in a tribute to his statue near FD Park.
Pulak Chamaria, Director, Infinity Group, emphasized the celebration’s aim to honor Swami Vivekananda’s legacy of unity and service. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, refreshment distribution, and a heartfelt call to action to embody his timeless principles.
