Bollywood actor and performer Nora Fatehi has spoken candidly about a frightening car accident she was involved in on Saturday afternoon in Mumbai. Describing the incident as one of the most terrifying moments of her life, Nora shared her experience directly with fans, revealing both the physical and emotional toll it has taken on her. The crash, which she says was caused by a drunk driver, has once again sparked serious conversations around road safety and responsible driving.

The accident took place while Nora was travelling to attend the Sunburn Festival, where she was scheduled to perform alongside international DJ David Guetta. According to her account, another vehicle, allegedly driven by a person under the influence of alcohol, rammed into her car with significant force. The impact was severe enough to throw her across the seat inside the vehicle, leaving her injured and deeply shaken.

Later that day, Nora addressed her fans through Instagram Stories, reassuring them that she was safe while also opening up about the ordeal. Speaking honestly, she said she felt it was important to share what happened, not just to update her followers, but also to send a strong message about the dangers of drunk driving.

In the video, Nora explained the sequence of events in detail. “I just want to let everyone know that I am okay,” she said. “Yes, I was in a really serious car accident this afternoon. A drunk person was driving under the influence and smashed into my car. The impact was quite severe. I was flung across the car and hit my head on the window.” Her words reflected both relief at having survived and shock at how close the incident came to becoming far worse.

While the accident was serious, Nora confirmed that she escaped without life-threatening injuries. She shared that she suffered swelling, significant pain, and a slight concussion. “I’m alive and I’m well,” she told her followers. “Apart from some minor injuries, swelling, and a slight concussion, I’m okay. I’m very grateful for that.” Despite this reassurance, it was clear that the incident had left a deep emotional impact.

Using her platform, Nora strongly condemned drunk driving, calling the entire incident unnecessary and avoidable. She expressed disbelief that such recklessness still exists, especially in a city like Mumbai. “This is exactly why you should not drink and drive,” she said firmly. “It’s 2025, and I can’t believe this is still something we have to talk about. I personally hate alcohol and anything that puts people in a different state of mind. I don’t promote it, and I don’t enjoy being around it.”

What shocked her even more was the timing of the accident. The crash happened around 3 p.m., in broad daylight. “I could never imagine that someone would be driving under the influence in the middle of the afternoon and putting other people’s lives at risk,” she said. “It’s terrifying to think how easily this could have ended in tragedy.”

Although Nora assured everyone that she is recovering, she admitted that she is still emotionally affected by the experience. “I’m not going to lie,” she said. “That was a very scary, terrifying, traumatic moment. I’m slightly still traumatised.” She acknowledged that while physical injuries may heal with time, the fear and shock of the moment linger longer.

Many fans were surprised to learn that despite the accident, Nora went ahead with her scheduled performance at the Sunburn Festival just hours later. Addressing this decision, she explained that her commitment to her work and career played a key role. “I don’t let anything get in the way of my ambition or the opportunities I’ve worked so hard for,” she said. “No drunk driver was going to take that moment away from me. It may sound crazy to some people, but I’ve worked too hard to reach these milestones.”

Nora concluded her message by thanking fans, friends, and well-wishers who reached out to check on her after the accident. She expressed deep appreciation for the concern and support she received.

At the same time, she reiterated her plea for road safety, pointing out that countless innocent lives in India have been lost due to drunk driving. “There is absolutely no excuse for it,” she said. “I’m grateful that I’m safe, but I truly felt like my life flashed before my eyes. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone.”

Her message has since resonated widely, serving as a powerful reminder of the real dangers of irresponsible driving and the importance of making safer choices on the road.
