The ongoing expansion of the integrated terminal at Kolkata airport will see an addition of over 71,000 sq ft in the departure and arrival levels, with three-fourths of the new space being added to the international wing.
The project will increase the terminal capacity from 2.6 crore passengers per annum to 2.8 crore passengers and will improve passenger amenities in both the international and domestic wings.
By mid-2025, a complete makeover of all 80 toilets — 60 in the departure level and 20 in arrival — is expected.
The international wing’s layout in the departure area will undergo a major reorganisation, with the Immigration and Customs area being shifted.
The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2025.
